Canadian Certified Pedorthist Shannon Bunnett is passionate about helping her patients get back to the activities they enjoy without being in pain.
As a provider of custom foot orthotics since 2001, she knows whether you need orthotics or whether a new, better fitting shoe is the first step.
If you’re suffering from chronic foot, ankle or knee pain, it can affect work and life in general. Shannon wants to find out why you are having your pain symptoms.
I myself wear orthotics and with my bunion issue I have found shoes which are orthotic friendly, fit my foot appropriately, and look great! I have a passion for footwear and have designed orthotics which fit into my running shoes and my more fashionable shoes.
I see a wide variety of people in my practice and I offer personalized advice and treatment to help get you better. Let me be your stepping stone to better health!
After a very thorough biomechanical assessment, Shannon will talk with you about what can be done to help. While many people find relief with orthotics, she said, it’s important to make sure the shoes you wear are best suited to the needs of your feet and your activities.
“Some people wear shoes longer than they should, and it’s my job to help teach my patients when it is time to replace their shoes,” she said. “There are some really good shoes stores in Stratford and area with staff who know their brands they sell and help make sure their shoes fit their customers properly.
”Sometimes, additional complementary therapies will be beneficial to help her patients. Shannon works with the team at Physiotherapy Alliance in Stratford to complement what she can provide her patients.
She also has an office in Tavistock Community Health Inc. medical clinic. Shannon feels that the team approach to health care is best to get patients better, in a more timely fashion.
Shannon understands this type of approach because, as an active runner and squash player herself, she knows the importance of feeling good and getting help when an injury occurs.
Recently, Shannon has volunteered with St. Louis RC and their senior visiting program, as well as The Canadian Cancer Society's Walking School Bus program.
As a member of Northfield Racquet and Fitness Club, Shannon enjoys playing squash and sponsors club tournaments.
Although not a competitive runner by any means, Shannon enjoys entering local races; her husband and daughter are her Pit Crew cheering her on!
